IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Passports must be valid at least six months beyond the trip end date.

Our tour company requires insurance policy coverage for medical expenses, evacuation, and repatriation benefits.  Combined coverage together needs to be $200,000 USD per traveler.  This medical coverage itself is not costly, but I do highly recommend a comprehensive policy to include your flight costs, trip interruption, etc.  You can use any insurance provider you prefer, but I recommend Travel Insured.  You can book through the link below.  I will send a reminder out about purchasing insurance, as it is ideally purchased just before final payment.

Final Payment:  I will be in touch near the end of February to collect final payments.  I will email you a secure link.

Good to Go Links:  Near the start of 2026 I will email you each GTG links.  This info is required by our tour company.  You'll need to submit any food allergies, your flight details, waiver for participation, etc.

FLIGHTS

You’ll want to book flights into Belize City (BZE) on April 4, 2026 and out of Belize City on April 12, 2026.

• Arrive anytime on April 4, but please be in Belize City by early evening to meet our guide and kick things off.
• Departing flights on April 12 should be no earlier than 11:30 AM to allow time to travel from the island back to the mainland.

*If you booked pre and/or post nights please adjust your flight dates accordingly.

**Your arrival transfer is INCLUDED.  For departure transfers, our guide can help book your transfer.

This trip finishes on Caye Caulker, which is located one hour by water taxi from Belize City (plus about 30 minutes by taxi to the airport). There are frequent ferry departures between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM, and return tickets can easily be purchased once we’re on the island.

MONEY AND TIPPING GUIDANCE

Every traveler is different, so spending money needs will vary. Some people order extra drinks. Some love stocking up on local crafts. Some barely spend anything. Think about your own habits when budgeting for drinks, shopping, and tipping.

Belize uses the Belize Dollar, and the exchange rate is simple. 1 USD equals 2 BZD. U.S. dollars are accepted almost everywhere, so exchanging money is not required. I personally plan to bring a couple hundred dollars in USD and will use an ATM to get BZD only if it becomes necessary. Bring a mix of cash plus credit and debit cards.

Tipping is customary in Belize. For wait staff, a general guideline is 10 percent unless a service charge is already added to the bill.

For drivers and local guides, recommended tipping ranges from 5 to 10 USD per day depending on the quality and length of the service. You can tip individually, or our CEO may offer to collect tips and distribute them as a group.

A quick note on the term CEO. CEO stands for Chief Experience Officer, which is G Adventures’ title for the guide who travels with us for the entire trip. They support the group from start to finish and handle the on the ground logistics.

Tipping your G Adventures CEO is very much appreciated. The amount is entirely personal. As a guideline in this region, 5 to 7 USD per person per day is recommended. If you feel your CEO went above and beyond, any additional amount is always welcome.

PACKING GUIDANCE

April is one of the best months to visit Belize. The days are warm and sunny with temperatures in the 80s °F, and the evenings stay comfortable in the 70s °F. Rain is minimal. If we do get a shower, it is usually brief and refreshing. The sea is generally calm and clear in April, which makes it an excellent time for snorkeling, boat trips, and any water activity you have your eye on. Water temperature is usually in the low 80s °F.

Pack for warm weather and movement. Lightweight clothing, breathable fabrics, and items you are comfortable exploring in will serve you well. Sandals are great for casual days, but make sure to bring a pair of comfortable closed toe shoes for activities. A swimsuit is a must. Add sun protection, a good hat, and sunglasses. If wildlife is your thing, binoculars can be a fun addition.

Do not forget your essentials. Passport, medication, a backpack for daytime excursions, chargers, reusable water bottles, and anything you personally rely on when you travel.

Belize uses the same power as the United States. Even so, I always travel with a universal adapter just in case I encounter a different style outlet.

We will be moving around a bit, so simple packing makes life easier. Plan to travel with one suitcase plus a backpack for daytime.
